The Treasures of the Cathedral

Between the end of the 15^th century and the beginning of the 16^th century, precious reliquaries were commissioned for the Cathedral, which for five centuries thereafter constituted the “Treasure of the Cathedral”. On the initiative of the canon Enrico Rampart, works of the highest quality by Flemish artists arrived in the town. There were also international commissions that supported the initiatives of another canon, Antonio Carboni to find the relics and to have their valuable containers made by local goldsmiths.
